A Downtown Wedding at Takk House with Kait and Matt
A downtown wedding at Takk House that beat the odds! 2020 didn’t stop these two from cutting their guest list and still making their wedding happen in 2020 on their 10 year dating anniversary! It was such a special day! Matt, come to find out must be a model as a side-job because he was super into things every time the camera was on him, which as a photographer it seems odd to say is rare, but it’s rare! Kait had an absolute stunner of a dress! She paid so much attention to detail and had everything planned perfectly. The biggest surprise was when she was about to walk down the aisle. She stopped at the entrance as Ellie Goulding’s ‘How Long Will I Love You’ played for us all to hear, she signed it all, the whole thing, for Matt to hear. Everyone was crying. Including me. It was spectacular in its subtlety and the sweetest and most unique moment I’ve ever captured at a wedding. Cheers to these two, to unique moments and to always making each other feel extra special!
How they met, by Kaitlin: My Aunt Kathy, our officiant, used to be an interpreter, so growing up I knew basic sign language. When I first went to college I needed a foreign language and decided to take sign language as opposed to the typical Spanish or French, because I thought it would be easier and if I needed help I could go to my aunt. While in school I was working my first waitressing job at Recovery Sports Grill in Troy. I was 19 and Matt was 23. Matt would always come in with his friends, and since I knew the basics of sign language my coworkers would always have me serve them and I loved getting to practice. Matt had said he would love to teach me more sign and I ended up writing my number on his check. He texted me immediately before even leaving the restaurant! Ha! I thought I had just made a new friend, but we’ve been together ever since. It hasn’t always been easy and there has been a lot of work that has gone into our relationship, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything!
