Caitlin and Marc's M&D Farm Wedding in Upstate New York
Marc, the groom, is from Scotland and Scottish weather was on hand for this M&D Farm wedding in Upstate New York. It rained buckets for much of the day and it made for a very cozy and intimate wedding celebration.
Marc and Caitlin are huge into music, it leads both of their careers and there were nods to it throughout the day. As Caitlin was getting ready, she commented on how they should be playing Ironic by Alanis Morissette and singing the "It's like rain, on your wedding day.." parts loudly, which was absolutely perfect! During their ceremony, they had a close friend Niall Connolly playing guitar and singing for them. Partway though the song, Marc and Caitlin began sining along with him and then THE ENTIRE group of guests joined in and I was beyond teary eyed. Hearing everyone come together in such a heartfelt and meaningful way made for a wedding ceremony that will stand out in my mind for quite some time.
I knew from the start of the day, from how welcome both Marc and Caitlin as well as their closest friends and family made me feel that they were something special. I saw this again when Caitlin showed me that she had brought along her grandmothers wedding photo and special mementos of hers to keep her close as she got ready. Then it became most apparent during the toasts that were given by their family later that evening. Every single person spoke to Caitlins heart, to how she's worked so hard for social change, for bettering life for others and how important that is to her and to them as a couple.
I consider myself lucky to have been at a lovely wedding with gorgeous humans who have truly good hearts. There is nothing else like it and I'm exited for you to see the story of their day! Here's to Marc and Caitlin and many happy years together!
