Claire and David’s Finger Lakes Wedding at Boudary Breaks Vineyard was absolute perfection! The winery is owned by Claire’s dad, so it was of course the perfect place to bring their friends and family together to celebrate their wedding day. The details were crafted around the stars and their love (and professions) of astronomy. The favors, escort cards and table names all had nods to astronomy and created a great theme that was so personal to them as individuals and as a couple. Some amazing toasts were given by dear friends that had humor, emotion and mentions of the incredible people and relationship that Claire and David are and that they share. What more perfect of a day than that spent with dear friends and family in celebration of two amazing people coming together?! Here’s to Claire and David and all of their future days together under the stars that they love so much!

How they met, by Claire: David and I met in 2011, during our last year at Carleton College. I was the TA in his observational astronomy class, and we commiserated often over physics homework. During winter break, we spent a lot of time emailing back and forth about applying to graduate school, which eventually turned into talking about everything from Jim Carrey movies to our mutual love of the stars. We finally got together shortly thereafter, and spent the rest of the year happily inseparable: sharing music, cooking and watching baseball. After graduation, David moved to France to study gravitational waves, and I moved to Madison, WI to learn about radio telescopes. But it wasn't too long before David came back to the states to join me in Wisconsin, and we spent the next six years there studying the stars. We are lucky enough to still be doing so, now in Baltimore, MD with the help of telescopes in space!
