Jenna and Mike's Covid-19 Virtual Zoom Wedding
Shout out to these two for following their hearts and getting married even though their previous plans were disrupted by Covid-19. They opted for a virtual Zoom wedding combo and it was PERFECT! Take a peek, their friends and family, the emotion, the laughter, the tears, the cheers, were all the perfect celebration of these two saying ‘I do’!
How they met, by Jenna: We met at the lounge of the Roundhouse in Beacon on a December night in 2014. I happened to sit next to him at the bar, and he struck up a conversation by asking me a riddle. That riddle turned into a magic trick and hours of talking and laughing together, which ended with him asking for my number. We had a coffee date the next week, and nearly 6 years later here we are!
We decided to elope because all we wanted was to be married. When the pandemic forced us to postpone, we knew that in our heart of hearts we weren’t willing to wait. So, we knew the elopement was going to happen in May, but with all the uncertainty (Mike’s working as a nurse in Westchester during the emergency, how to get a marriage license, the social distance requirements, etc) we were constantly shifting gears as to how it would happen and scrambling to figure it out.
About 2 weeks ago, I got an email from a historical venue on the Hudson saying they were opening the grounds to healthcare workers and their families for private visits. I had a flash of inspiration and we quickly wrote back to book the grounds for sunset on May 29th. We were so lucky it all worked out! The day-of we had everything crossed the storms would hold off. It was sunny right til the moment we pulled through the gates, then the storms rolled in and our incredible friends and officiant just went with it! To be fair, there were a few moments I was ready to call it and move to a covered location, but Mike was the cheerleader and optimist; he just *knew* it would pass and we’d have the view of a lifetime. And he was right! We even had a rainbow after the ceremony, which felt like the perfect cap to a once-in-a-lifetime-day!
