Ashley and Scott's Lake Placid Lodge Leap Day Wedding
This Lake Placid Lodge Leap Day Wedding started with a cozy evening for their guests to enjoy the night before the wedding. Both the night before and their wedding day was set in an absolute winter wonderland! They enjoyed an intimate ceremony with cozy blankets for their guests to snuggle up in and openly shared their love for each other with personalized vows and made things official in front of their dearest friends and family! They ventured off to cocktail hour where the biggest surprise was unveiled! Scott had arranged for Ashley’s favorite band, Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra, to be present and she had NO idea and had the most amazing reaction along with her guests! It was truly a night to remember!
How they Met, from Ashley: We had both been single for awhile and hadn't really given up but knew it would be all or nothing for us to fall in love again. We met at the golf course I managed in California. Scott mentioned to his golfing partner that he thought I was cute. His friend Don asked for my number to give to Scott when he wasn't around. I gave him my number and Scott mentioned something about his wingman helping him out a few weeks later but never called. We starting talking and flirting more and more when they came to golf. After 11 months of this he finally asked me to play 9 holes with them after they finished a round. I did and Scott was clearly flustered with me on the course! Don left and Scott stayed and had a beer with me afterwards. Hours later he said good bye and said we'd golf on the next "warm Monday" It was November (2017) and I only had Mondays off. I was tired of waiting for him to make the move so I texted him shortly after he left and asked if he wanted to get dinner. He said "absolutely!" and we were inseparable after that. After 6 months of dating (June 2018) we moved from CA to Branford, CT for his work. In October 2019 on a warm Monday he proposed at home in our kitchen. We were planning a big wedding for June on Block Island but decided on a New Year's trip to visit my family to do a smaller winter wedding in Lake Placid. Invitations went out mid-Jan and you can see the rest below!
